This header is available in 2” or 2 1/8” tube size with 3 ½” collectors. All of the tubes are inside the frame. Our headers are hand made to order, so we can build them for any engine deck height and for any aftermarket cylinder head as long as the engine stays in the stock location.

What Fits:

On our design car we used ’72-’81 clamshell style motor mounts to design around. The ’70-’71 cars use the earlier style mount which keeps the engine in the same location and offers even more header room. You can also use solid motor mounts which would be Moroso #62530 for the frame and #62515 for the engine. This header will not fit a mid plate.

Ground clearance is excellent. We used a Milodon low profile 7 quart oil pan #30951 and #30956 to design with and the header is higher than the bottom of the pan. These 2 oil pans offer easy access to the oil filter. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ½” of room for side sump kick outs on the passenger side and 4” of room on the driver side. If your oil pan has a driver side kick out under the oil filter it may make it difficult to remove the filter. With a straight sided pan the filter is easily removed. This header was designed with a Power Master #9540 starter (Nippondenso style) and will not fit with a Hitachi type mini starter or full size GM starter. See starter photos.

This header fits a power brake booster and clutch linkage. It has good clearance from the steering column and excellent spark plug access. It does not fit column shifter linkage.If you have a Lakewood type bell housing you may have to slightly grind the outer lip under the starter for header room.

We offer the Power Master #9540 starters. 

From ’70 thru ’81 the Camaro used 2 styles of motor mounts. In ’70, ’71, and ‘72  they used the early style like on the first gen Camaro’s used then later they used clamshell mounts. This header fits both, it also fits Moroso solid mounts. For the ’70-’72 cars use the stock SB frame stand and Moroso #62530 engine mounts. To replace the clamshell mounts with solid mounts use Moroso #62530 frame mounts and #62515 engine mounts

This header requires a Power Master #9540 or #9500 starter, it will also fit with a

CVR #5323 starter. It will not fit the original large GM starters.

This header does not fit a mid plate. It does not fit an original factory AC box on the fire wall, but will fit aftermarket air conditioners like Vintage Air. It fits with mechanical clutch linkage, power brake booster, but does not fit column shifter linkage

Header installation: Pro-Tour Style

If this header is built in the pro-tour style it should be installed with the engine.

Header Installation: Race Style

If this header is built in the race style it will have slip on race collectors and individual tubes and can be installed with the engine in place as you will install one tube at a time, in this order.

Driver side install #1, #3, #5, #7, only snug the header bolts (not tight) until the collector is installed then go back and tighten all bolts.

Passenger side, install #2, #8, #4, #6, then the collector.

.What Fits:All tubes are inside of the frame. It requires a mini starter either a Hitachi or Nippondenso style. A full size GM starter will not fit.
This header was designed around factory GM clamshell style motor mounts. It will not fit a mid-plate.
Ground clearance is excellent, the bottom of the header is ½” higher than the bottom of the front K member.
It has great access to the spark plugs. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan on the passenger side we have 3” of room for oil pan sump kick out. And on the driver side we have 1 ¾” at the top on the pan and 4” of room at the bottom for sump kick out.
This header will not fit factory clutch linkage. If you have a column shifter for an automatic transmission you will have to use a Lokar ACA-1800 shift linkage or something similar.
Power brake booster and air conditioning will fit.
Mini starters, Factory motor mounts, Aftermarket oil pans and Factory air conditioning fit.
Clutch linkage and mid plates do not fit.
For the ‘62-’66 trucks our design truck had frame mounts and engine mounts from Performance Online.

On the Performance On Line tubular Motor mounts, you will have to trim the top of the mount. on the passenger side See photos.

Installing the headers:
If the header is made all one piece (Pro-Tour style) you will have to raise the engine to install it.
If the header is made as individual tubes (Race Style) install the tubes from the bottom, start from front and work back on the driver side. On the passenger side install from the bottom 2, 4, 8, then install #6 from the top.

This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ¼” with any collector size up to 4” or our collector muffler up to a 5” size. The two center tubes on each side go around the frame. The engine MUST to stay in the stock location.

What Fits:
The header will fit with side motor mounts or motor plates. This header was designed with a Power Master #9540 or #9500 or a CVR #5323Nippondenso style starter and will not fit with a full size GM stock starter or Hitachi style mini starter.
We offer Power Master #9540 starters.
It has excellent oil pan room. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan it has 4 ¾” of room on the passenger side and 5” of room on the driver side. Ground clearance is also excellent, with a Milodon 7 quart oil pan and the largest tube size (2 ¼”) the header was ¼” below the bottom of the pan, smaller tube sizes will gain ground clearance. Spark plug room is very good with angle plug heads, straight plugs are tighter. This header is designed for skinny drag racing type tires, but may fit up to a 7” with tire depending on the wheel offset. It has good room for aftermarket “A” arms.
This header is made for stock type clutch linkage, but will NOT fit column shifter linkage, power brake booster or factory air conditioning.
Note: Brake lines may have to be rerouted for clearance. If you are going to keep the inner fender wells they will have to be notched for header clearance.
If more room is needed for our race collector mufflers or a large exhaust system we offer a chrome moly transmission cross member.

Installation:
Installing these headers is very easy as they are individual tubes. On both sides install the front tube first, then the back tube, then the center pair (these are the tubes that go around the frame). Now install the collector. There are mounting tabs on the collectors and on the primary tubes to secure the collectors. On the driver side one tab on the collector and one tab on the primary tube have an “L” stamped on them and must line up with each other when installed. The passenger side tabs have an “R” stamped on them. Only snug the header bolts, until the collector has been installed, then go back and tighten the header bolts.

This header has the 2 center tubes on each side going around the frame, so it is intended for drag type skinny front tires. May fit up to a 7” tire depending on wheel offset.
This header has good room for aftermarket A arms.

The engine must stay in the stock position either on solid side motor mounts or motor plates. Side mounts are Moroso #62630 frame mounts and Moroso #62515 engine mounts.
This header requires a Power Master #9540 or #9500 Nippondenso type starter, or #9526 for staggered mount. A stock starter or Hitachi type starter will not fit.

Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ¼” of room on the passenger side and 4 ¾” of room on the driver side for sump kick outs.
Spark plugs have good room, there is more room with angled spark plugs.
Oil filter has good access. With some kick out pans you may have to slide filter forward to get past sump.

This header will fit a power brake booster and clutch linkage, but will not fit a factory air conditioning box on the firewall or column shifter linkage.

The Milodon oil pan we used has a 1 ½” sump kick out and we could still get the oil filter out from the bottom.
This header is designed for either straight or angled spark plugs. The spark plugs have good clearance. This header requires a Nippondenso style mini starter. We used a Power Master #9500 or #9540 to design with. A full size GM starter and a Hitachi style mini starter will NOT fit.
The header is designed for the engine in the stock location on stock motor mounts or Moroso #62500 solid motor mounts, but will not fit a mid plate. It will fit clutch linkage and a power brake booster, but will not fit factory air conditioning or column shifter linkage.
We offer Power Master #9540 starters.

Installing the Headers:

Pro-Tour Style: When the header is built in the Pro-Tour style (all one piece) it is difficult to install and should be held in place as the engine is installed.
Race Style: If the header is built in the Race style with individual tubes install one tube at a time from the bottom starting from front to back. You may have to raise the engine on the driver side to get #3-#5 pair installed past the steering column. Then install the collectors. In the Race style this header can be fitted with larger collectors or our collector mufflers.

What Fits:

On our design car we used a Moroso oil pan #20140 and in the 2 1/8” primary size the header was ½” below the pan. Smaller primary sizes would gain ground clearance.
From the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ½” of room on the passenger side and 4” of room on the driver side for sump kick outs. We used a stock GM starter. Oil filter access is very easy.
This header was designed on Dirty Dingo #DD3575C adjustable engine mounts, setting on stock small block frame mounts.
To position the motor we used a stock transmission crossmember and centered the tailshaft mount in the slotted holes. See photos of engine mount position.
This header will also fit motor plates.
This header WILL fit a power brake booster, but WILL NOT a fit factory air conditioning box on the firewall or column shifter linkage.

Note: It is important that you read our Yellow (Header Installation Tips) page before installing your new Lemons Headers. It will make installing the headers easier band save you time.

Header installation:
Driver Side: When we finished our design header we were able to remove the driver side header easily out the bottom.

Passenger side: We had to remove the spark plugs and starter and take it out through the top.
If we build the header with slip on type race collectors we can cut the header flange in the center, so the tubes would be in pairs, making installation easier.

What Fits

Spark plug room is good, but #5 is difficult to reach. A mini starter is required. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ½” of room from the oil pan on the passenger side and 2 ¾” of room on the driver side for oil pan kick out sumps This header is designed for stock motor mounts or motor plates as long as the engine stays in the stock position. This header does not fit a 1 ton chassis. It will touch the inside of the “C” shaped frame.
If you want to use them on a 1 ton truck you can slightly trim the frame (ask Dan for more info).
This header needs a mini starter. It fits factory air conditioning and power brake booster.. It does not fit factory clutch linkage. It does not fit factory column shifter linkage, but Lokar Performance Products makes a replacement linkage that bypasses the original factory linkage under the floor. It goes directly from the lever on the column to the transmission lever. They also make a cable system for the column shifter.

Installing Headers: Pro-Tour style:

The engine will have to be raised on each side for installation.

Installing Headers: Race Style:

Race style is individual tubes and slip on collectors.
Install one tube at a time starting from front to back. Only snug header bolts, do not tighten them.
Then install slip on collectors and bolt in place.
Then go back and tighten all header bolts.

We have room for oil The bottom of our design header was pan sump kick outs, on the driver side we have 4 ½” of room at the bottom of the pan and on the passenger side we have 1 ¾” of room. If the oil pan kick out is under the oil filter the filter may be trapped.

What Fits:
This header will fit stock motor mounts and motor plates. The steering column has good room and there is room for a power brake booster, it also fits factory clutch linkage.
If you have a column shifter you will have to use Lokar or I Did It shifter linkage. They both offer replacement mechanical linkage and a cable shifter system.
This header requires a mini starter not over 8” long including the mounting block at the back of the starter. We recommend a Power Master #9540 starter or CVR 5323 starter. If your oil pan has sump kick outs under the oil filter the filter may be trapped.
We have room for oil pan kick outs. The bottom of our design header was ½” lower than the bottom of the oil pan. The available room for oil pan sump kick outs, measuring from the side of a stock oil pan on the driver side we have 4 ½” of room at the bottom of the pan and on the passenger side we have 1 ¾” of room. If the oil pan kick out is under the oil filter the filter may be trapped.
This header was not designed for a 1 ton chassis. It will touch the inside of the “C” shaped frame.

This header in the Pro-Tour style can be made in any tube size up to 2” with a 3 ½” collector, stepped or not. It can also be made in a race version with any tube size up to 2” and up to a 4” collector or up to a 5” race collector muffler. Because of the tight tolerances at the steering box we don’t have room to use inner adapter plates on the head.
All of our headers are hand made so we can make them for any engine deck height and for most aftermarket cylinder heads.

What Fits:
This header has excellent ground clearance. The bottom of the header is higher than the bottom of the oil pan. It is also made for oil pans with sump kick outs. On the passenger side we have 3 ½” of room and on the driver side we have 1 ½” of room at the pan rail and 4” of room at the bottom of the pan for sump kick outs.
This header has good room around straight or angled spark plugs. It requires a mini starter, either a Hitachi or Nippondenso style, but will not fit a full size GM starter.
It is designed for mechanical clutch linkage and a Lakewood style scatter shield as well as any automatic transmission.
We offer Power Master #9540 starters.
It is designed for side motor mounts, but not for a mid plate. It fits a power brake booster, but will not fit column shifter linkage, only floor shifters.

IMPORTANT: There are many aftermarket motor mounts available for these chassis which position the engine forward from the stock location. In our fabricating jigs we can compensate for these positions. Because the steering box clearance is so tight we must have accurate information from the customer as to the motors location. Ask our sales person for information about finding these measurements.

Header Installation:
Passenger side: With the starter out install the header from the bottom. The starter can be installed with the header in place.

Driver side: Our design car had a stock oil pan on it and with all clutch linkage out, the oil filter and spark plugs out. We were able to install the header from the bottom with out raising the engine.
