#BBR-506 BB Race header for Martz front clip https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-506-bb-race-header-for-martz-front-clip/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:52:40 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-506-bb-race-header-for-martz-front-clip/ Header Specs:

This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ½” with up to a 5” collector or our collector mufflers up to a 6” size. It has all tubes inside the frame with excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. We designed the header using a Milodon #30950 or #30955 low profile oil pan and the bottom of the header was ½” higher than the bottom of the pan. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have well over 4” of room on each side for a sump kick out or dry sump oil lines. This also gives easy access to the oil filter and starter. If you are going to use our collector mufflers you will need our tubular transmission cross member for additional room. The header is designed for solid side motor mounts setting on small block frame stands or motor plates with the engine centered and at the same height. Ask our sales person for more information. There is room for the engine to move back with this header. This header will fit a power brake booster and clutch linkage. It requires any mini starter but will not fit a factory style GM full size starter. If you are using a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to trim it slightly under the starter area. This header will NOT fit factory air conditioning or column shifter linkage.

Header Installation:

We normally build this header with individual tubes for easy installation. Leave the engine and starter in place. Start from front to back installing one tube at a time on both sides. Only snug the header bolts until the collectors are installed then go back and tighten all header bolts.
Refer to our header installation tip’s page for additional information.

#BBPT-600 – ‘67-’69 CAMARO BIG BLOCK – ‘68-’74 NOVA BIG BLOCK – BB Pro Tour header for stock chassis with “600” or stock steering box https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbpt-600-bb-pro-tour-header-for-stock-chassis-with-600-or-stock-steering-box/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:52:40 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbpt-600-bb-pro-tour-header-for-stock-chassis-with-600-or-stock-steering-box/ Header Specs:

This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ¼” and collector sizes up to 4”. All of the tubes are inside the frame. It will fit on big block or small block front motor mounts also motor plates. All of our headers are hand made to order, so we can build them for any engine deck height and for any aftermarket cylinder head in any tube size you need, stepped or not. This header has excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. On our design car we used a Milodon low pro file oil pan #30950 or #30955. The bottom of our header is ¼” higher than the bottom of the pan. Measuring from a stock oil pan we have 2” of room at the top and 3” of room at the bottom of the pan for sump kick outs. With no pan kick out the oil filter will easily drop out the bottom. With a kick out style pan the filter may or may not be accessible depending on the size of the sump kick out under the filter.
This header will fit any stock GM steering box and the DSE 600 steering box. It will fit up to a 9” power brake booster and clutch linkage, but it will NOT fit a factory air conditioning box on the fire wall or column shifter linkage. If you are using a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to slightly trim the outer edge below the starter area.

The stock front motor mount frame stand on the driver side hangs over the back of the “K” member about ¾”. The top back corner of this frame stand needs to be notched for header room. See attached drawing.

Header Installation:

If the header is built as a pro-tour style, all one piece with collectors welded on, they should be installed as the engine is installed. If the header is built as a race style with individual tubes with slip on collectors then follow this sequence.
Driver side, install tubes #1 and #3 from the top at he same time and start header bolts, do not tighten. If you have a kick out oil pan you may need to raise the engine slightly to get these 2 tubes in. Next install #7 from the bottom and start header bolts. Last install #5 from the top. With all tubes in and header bolts snug but not tight install slip on collectors and bolt in place then tighten all header bolts.
On the passenger side with the starter in place repeat the same sequence, #2, #4, #8 #6.
Refer to our header installation tip’s page for additional information.

#BBPT-660 – ‘67-’69 CAMARO BIG BLOCK – ‘68-’74 NOVA BIG BLOCK – BB Pro Tour header for Detroit Speed & Engineering chassis https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbpt-660-bb-pro-tour-header-for-detroit-speed-engineering-chassis/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:52:40 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbpt-660-bb-pro-tour-header-for-detroit-speed-engineering-chassis/ Header Specs:
This header is available in 2” or 2 1/8” tube sizes with a 3 ½” collectors, also in a 2 ¼” tube size with 4” collectors. All of our headers are hand made so we can build them for any engine deck height and any cylinder head in any tube size you need.

What Fits:
It has excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. It is designed for aftermarket oil pans with side sump kick outs, the available room from the side of a stock oil pan is 4 ½” on the drivers side and 5 ¼” on the passengers side. On our design car we used a Milodon low profile oil pan #30951 or #30956 and the bottom of the header was even with the bottom of the oil pan. These oil pans allow easy access to the oil filter. This header requires a mini starter.
This design fits either small block or big block side motor mounts or motor plates, clutch linkage and up to a 9” power brake booster. When installing your steering column the upper “U” joint needs to be approximately 5” to 5 ½” from the firewall or in the same location as the factory steering column rag joint, which will allow the column to easily clear the header. If your car has a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to trim the outer edge of it under the starter area.
This header will not fit a factory air conditioning box on the firewall, or a full size GM factory starter or column shifter linkage or steering column lock out linkage. It requires that the engine be in the correct position. Either on small block or big block motor mounts. It will also fit motor plates. Steering column top U joint has to be 5” to 5 ½” from the fire wall so that the column will clear the header.
We recommend Milodon #30951 or #30956 oil pans. This header requires a mini starter and is limited to a 9” power brake booster.

Installing the headers, Pro-Tour Style
To install the passenger side leave the starter in place, but remove the spark plugs and install header from the bottom.
To install the driver side remove the spark plugs, clutch linkage, oil filter and the center section of the steering column. You may have to raise the engine about 1” and install the header from the bottom.

660#2
Installing the headers, Race Style
The race style headers are all single tubes and slip on race collectors.

On the driver side install #1, #3, #7 tubes from the bottom and #5 tube from the top.
Then install the slip on collector, Be sure to read installation tip’s page regarding slip on collectors.

On the passenger side
Be sure to read the header installation tip’s page before installing the headers.
Install each header tube starting from front to back #2, #4, #6, #8. Then install the collector.

Be sure to read our Yellow (Header Installation Tips) page before installing the headers.

This header is available in 2” or 2 1/8” tube sizes with a 3 ½” collector, also in a 2 ¼” tube size with a 4” collector. All of our headers are hand made so we can build them for any engine deck height and any cylinder head. In any tube size you need.

What Fit’s

It has excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. It is designed for aftermarket oil pans with side sump kick outs, the available room from the side of a stock oil pan is 4 ½” on the drivers side and 3 ¼” on the passengers side. On our design car we used a Milodon low profile oil pan #30951 or #30956 and the bottom of the header was even with the bottom of the oil pan. These oil pans allow easy access to the oil filter. This header requires a mini starter. Steeroid rear rack fits.

This design fits side motor mounts or motor plates, clutch linkage and up to a 9” power brake booster. When installing your steering column the upper “U” joint needs to be approximately 5” to 5 ½” from the firewall or in the same location as the factory steering column rag joint, which will allow the column to easily clear the header. If your car has a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to slightly trim the outer edge of it under the starter area for clearance.

This header will not fit a factory air conditioning box on the firewall, a full size GM factory starter or column shifter linkage. It requires that the engine be in the correct position. The engine should be setting on small block front motor mounts, 327 or 350 only. (See drawing that shows measurements) If you are using a poly engine mount it would be a Prothane #7-504. If you are using a solid engine mount it would be a Moroso #62530. It requires a mini starter. It is limited to a 9” power brake booster. Fits many aftermarket oil pans with kick out sumps, see info above for available room.

Installing the Headers: Pro-Tour Style

To install the passenger side, depending on the size of the oil pan kick out you may or may not have to remove the starter, remove the spark plugs and install header from the bottom.

To install the driver side remove the spark plugs, clutch linkage, oil filter and the center section of the steering column. You may have to raise the engine about 1” and install the header from the bottom.

Installing the Headers: Race Style

The race style headers are all single tubes and slip on collectors.

On the driver side install #1, #3, #7 tubes from the bottom and #5 tube from the top.

Then install the slip on collector. The collector only goes on one way, so be sure to read the installation tips page regarding slip on collectors.

On the passenger side install each tube from front to back #2, #4, #6, #8,  from the bottom, then install the collector.

It’s important that you refer tour Yellow (Header Installation Tips) page for additional information. It will make the installation go easier and save you time.

#BBR-505 – ‘67-’69 CAMARO BIG BLOCK – ‘68-’74 NOVA BIG BLOCK – BB RACE HEADER FOR STOCK CHASSIS WITH STOCK STEERING BOX https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-505-bb-race-header-for-stock-chassis-with-stock-steering-box/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:51:14 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-505-bb-race-header-for-stock-chassis-with-stock-steering-box/ Header Specs:

Big Block Race Headers are available in tube sizes up to 2 ½”

This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ½” with any collector size up to 5” or our collector muffler up to a 6” size. It has all the tubes inside the frame with excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. On our design car we used a Milodon low profile oil pan #30950 and #30955 to design with and the bottom of the header was ¼” below the bottom of the pan. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3” of room on each side for sump kick outs. This header will fit on side motor mounts or motor plates. Engine position is critical! Use small block front mount frame stands to position the engine with Moroso #62530 solid motor mounts. Rubber or Polyurethane motor mounts will have to be trimmed for clearance. Ask our sales person for more information. Any mini starter will fit, but a full size GM starter will not fit. The header tubes are to the outside of the oil filter so if there is no oil pan kick out on the driver side the filter is easily accessible, but if your oil pan kicks out under the filter it will be trapped and you will need a remote filter. If you will be using our collector mufflers you may need our tubular transmission cross member #CAMX67 for additional room.
This header will only fit up to a 7” power brake booster and is designed for clutch linkage, but it will NOT fit factory air conditioning or column shifter linkage. If you are using a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to slightly trim the outer edge of it under the starter area.

Header Installation:

We normally build this header with individual tubes and slip on collectors for easier installation. Remove spark plugs, oil filter and starter. On the driver side motor mount frame stand you will have to trim the back top corner at the base of the mount to clear the #1 tube (see drawing).
Driver side, start with #1 and #3. Install them at the same time from the top. With big tube size or a kick out oil pan you may have to raise the engine slightly to get these two in. Get the header bolts started. Next install #7 from below and start bolts. Install #5 from the top and snug all the header bolts, but don’t tighten them until the collector is installed then go back and tighten all the bolts.
Passenger side, install #2 then #4 from the top and start header bolts slightly leaving the tubes very loose. Next install #8 from the bottom and start bolts. Install the starter (the size of the oil pan will determine the difficulty to install the starter). Then install #6 from the top. Snug all the header bolts, install the collector and then tighten all the header bolts.
Refer to our header installation page for additional information.

#BBR-501 – ‘67-’69 CAMARO BIG BLOCK – ‘68-’74 NOVA BIG BLOCK – BB Race header for stock chassis with rack & pinion and dry sump oil system https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-501-bb-race-header-for-stock-chassis-with-rack-pinion-and-dry-sump-oil-system/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:51:14 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-501-bb-race-header-for-stock-chassis-with-rack-pinion-and-dry-sump-oil-system/ Header Specs:

This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ½” with up to a 5” collector or our collector mufflers up to a 6” size. This design is intended for use with a large dry sump oil pump. In order to make room for the pump we ran 1 tube on each side around the frame which also gave us extra room at the oil pan for the dry sump oil lines. Measuring from a stock oil pan we have over 4” of room on each side. Ground clearance is excellent with the bottom of the header slightly below the bottom of the oil pan. All the spark plugs can be accessed with a socket. Any style mini starter will fit and can be mounted on either side of the engine.
If our collector mufflers are used you will need our tubular transmission cross member for additional room. Our design car was a stock chassis with a TRZ front mounted rack & pinion and steering column. The tube that goes around the frame will clear a 26” skinny drag style tire. We used an Aviaid 5 stage oil pump to design around. This header will fit solid side motor mounts or motor plates. It will fit clutch linkage and a power brake booster, but will NOT fit a factory air conditioning box on the fire wall or factory column shifter linkage.

Header Installation:

If you are going to keep your inner fender wells in the car they will have to be trimmed for clearance around the tube that goes around the frame. Once that is done the headers are easy to install. With the engine and starter in place start front to back installing one tube at a time, install the outer tube last. Only snug the header bolts until the collectors are installed then tighten all the header bolts.
Refer to our header installation tip’s page for additional information.
