This header is available in 2” or 2 1/8” tube size with 3 ½” collectors. All of the tubes are inside the frame. Our headers are hand made to order, so we can build them for any engine deck height and for any aftermarket cylinder head as long as the engine stays in the stock location.

What Fits:

On our design car we used ’72-’81 clamshell style motor mounts to design around. The ’70-’71 cars use the earlier style mount which keeps the engine in the same location and offers even more header room. You can also use solid motor mounts which would be Moroso #62530 for the frame and #62515 for the engine. This header will not fit a mid plate.

Ground clearance is excellent. We used a Milodon low profile 7 quart oil pan #30951 and #30956 to design with and the header is higher than the bottom of the pan. These 2 oil pans offer easy access to the oil filter. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ½” of room for side sump kick outs on the passenger side and 4” of room on the driver side. If your oil pan has a driver side kick out under the oil filter it may make it difficult to remove the filter. With a straight sided pan the filter is easily removed. This header was designed with a Power Master #9540 starter (Nippondenso style) and will not fit with a Hitachi type mini starter or full size GM starter. See starter photos.

This header fits a power brake booster and clutch linkage. It has good clearance from the steering column and excellent spark plug access. It does not fit column shifter linkage. If you have a Lakewood type bell housing you may have to slightly grind the outer lip under the starter for header room.

We offer the Power Master #9540 starters.

From ’70 thru ’81 the Camaro used 2 styles of motor mounts. In ’70, ’71, and ‘72  they used the early style like on the first gen Camaro’s used then later they used clamshell mounts. This header fits both, it also fits Moroso solid mounts. For the ’70-’72 cars use the stock SB frame stand and Moroso #62530 engine mounts. To replace the clamshell mounts with solid mounts use Moroso #62530 frame mounts and #62515 engine mounts

This header requires a Power Master #9540 or #9500 starter, it will also fit with a

CVR #5323 starter. It will not fit the original large GM starters.

This header does not fit a mid plate. It does not fit an original factory AC box on the fire wall, but will fit aftermarket air conditioners like Vintage Air. It fits with mechanical clutch linkage, power brake booster, but does not fit column shifter linkage

Header installation: Pro-Tour Style

If this header is built in the pro-tour style it should be installed with the engine.

Header Installation: Race Style

If this header is built in the race style it will have slip on race collectors and individual tubes and can be installed with the engine in place as you will install one tube at a time, in this order.

Driver side install #1, #3, #5, #7, only snug the header bolts (not tight) until the collector is installed then go back and tighten all bolts.

Passenger side, install #2, #8, #4, #6, then the collector.

Be sure to read our (Header Installation Tips) page before installing your new Lemons Headers It will make the installation go easier and will save you time.

#BBR-511 – ‘70-’81 CAMARO BIG BLOCK – ‘75-’79 NOVA BIG BLOCK – BB RACE HEADER SMITH RACE CRAFT FRONT CLIP https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-511-lemons-headers-inc-70-81-camaro-75-79-nova-bb-race-header-smith-race-c5raft-front-clip/ Wed, 04 Jan 2023 18:45:40 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/?post_type=product&p=1511 Header Specs:
This header was designed for any tube size UP TO 2 ½” primary size with any collector size UP TO 5” or collector muffler size UP TO 6”.
It has one tube on each side that go’s around the frame.
It is made as all single tubes, each tube has its own flange so you just install one tube at a time and then the collector slips onto the primary tubes and bolts in place.

What Fits?
On each side of a stock oil pan we have 4 ¼” of room on the passenger side for oil pan sump kick outs and 3 ½” of room on the driver side.
The engine must be mounted on Smith Race Craft Motor plates.
Almost any mini starter will fit, but I’m not sure about the Mezier 400 series starter.
With no oil pan sump kick outs the oil filter is very easy to remove and install. With a kick out sumps you may be able to slide the filter forward to get it out.
At the back of the collectors the clearance from the car floorboard is ¾”.
This header is intended for Drag type skinny front tires.
Evacuation tubes and oxygen sensor bungs will be facing outward in the collector.

Installation.
Before starting the installation of your new headers, please read the yellow installation tips page. It will help the process go smother and save you a lot of time.
On the driver side install tubes from front to back 1-3-5-7-
On the passenger side install #2 and #4 tubes together, then #6 and #8.

#BBR-510 – ‘70-’81 CAMARO BIG BLOCK – ‘75-’79 NOVA BIG BLOCK – BB Race header for stock chassis https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-510-bb-race-header-for-stock-chassis/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:56:09 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbr-510-bb-race-header-for-stock-chassis/ Header Spec’s:
This header is designed for any tube size UP TO 2 ½” with any collector size UP TO 5” or our collector muffler UP TO 6”diameter. It has 2 tubes on the passenger side and 1 tube on the driver side that go around the frame. If your engine has a dry sump oil system or the starter on the driver side we can take a second tube around the frame for additional room, only if you do not have a power brake booster.

We offer Power Master #9540 starters.

What Fits:
Almost any mini starter will fit except a Mezier #400 and a full size GM starter will not fit. We designed this header using Moroso #62630 frame mounts and Moroso #62515 engine mounts, it will also fit motor plates, but the engine needs to stay in the stock position. Ground clearance and spark plug access is excellent. This header is made for kick out oil pan sumps. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ¼” of room on the passenger side for kick out sumps and on t6he driver side we have 1 ½” at mid pan with more room at the bottom of the pan. If you have a dry sump oil system or the starter on the driver side, we can take 2 tubes around the frame on the driver side to give you more than 4”of oil pan room, but only if your car does not have a power brake booster.
This header does not fit a factory AC box on the firewall or column shifter linkage, but it will fit a power brake booster and clutch linkage. Because of the tubes going around the frame it is intended for skinny drag type front tires.

Installing the headers:

Passenger side, start with #2 the front tube and just start the header bolts, then #4 should go in with the starter in place. #6 and #8 next, these are the 2 that go around the frame.

Driver side, start with #7 the back tube and just start the header bolts. Next install #1 and #3 at the same time and bolt to the head. #5 is the tube that goes around the frame, install it last. If we take a second tube around the frame on the driver side, it will be 5 and 7 that go around the frame. Once all the tubes are installed you can run the header bolts up snug, but not tight until the collectors are installed then tighten all bolts.

Be sure to read the Yellow (Header Installation Tip’s) page before installing your new Lemons Headers, it will make installation much easier and save you time.

Also for Chris Alston’s Chassisworks, Martz, Checkered Racing,  Jim Meyers, Fatman & TCI front clips. https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbpt-661-bb-pro-tour-header-for-stock-chassis-with-rack-pinion-steering-also-for-chris-alstons-chassisworks-martz-checkered-racing-jim-meyers-fatman-tci-front-clips/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 00:52:40 +0000 https://lemonsheaders.com/product/bbpt-661-bb-pro-tour-header-for-stock-chassis-with-rack-pinion-steering-also-for-chris-alstons-chassisworks-martz-checkered-racing-jim-meyers-fatman-tci-front-clips/ Header Spec’s:

This header is available in 2” or 2 1/8” tube sizes with a 3 ½” collector, also in a 2 ¼” tube size with a 4” collector. All of our headers are hand made so we can build them for any engine deck height and any cylinder head. In any tube size you need.

What Fit’s

It has excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. It is designed for aftermarket oil pans with side sump kick outs, the available room from the side of a stock oil pan is 4 ½” on the drivers side and 3 ¼” on the passengers side. On our design car we used a Milodon low profile oil pan #30951 or #30956 and the bottom of the header was even with the bottom of the oil pan. These oil pans allow easy access to the oil filter. This header requires a mini starter. Steeroid rear rack fits.

This design fits side motor mounts or motor plates, clutch linkage and up to a 9” power brake booster. When installing your steering column the upper “U” joint needs to be approximately 5” to 5 ½” from the firewall or in the same location as the factory steering column rag joint, which will allow the column to easily clear the header. If your car has a Lakewood style scatter shield you may have to slightly trim the outer edge of it under the starter area for clearance.

This header will not fit a factory air conditioning box on the firewall, a full size GM factory starter or column shifter linkage. It requires that the engine be in the correct position. The engine should be setting on small block front motor mounts, 327 or 350 only. (See drawing that shows measurements) If you are using a poly engine mount it would be a Prothane #7-504. If you are using a solid engine mount it would be a Moroso #62530. It requires a mini starter. It is limited to a 9” power brake booster. Fits many aftermarket oil pans with kick out sumps, see info above for available room.

Installing the Headers: Pro-Tour Style

To install the passenger side, depending on the size of the oil pan kick out you may or may not have to remove the starter, remove the spark plugs and install header from the bottom.

To install the driver side remove the spark plugs, clutch linkage, oil filter and the center section of the steering column. You may have to raise the engine about 1” and install the header from the bottom.

Installing the Headers: Race Style

The race style headers are all single tubes and slip on collectors.

On the driver side install #1, #3, #7 tubes from the bottom and #5 tube from the top.

Then install the slip on collector. The collector only goes on one way, so be sure to read the installation tips page regarding slip on collectors.

On the passenger side install each tube from front to back #2, #4, #6, #8,  from the bottom, then install the collector.

It’s important that you refer tour Yellow (Header Installation Tips) page for additional information. It will make the installation go easier and save you time.
