This header is designed for any tube size up to 2 ¼” with any collector size up to 4” or our collector muffler up to a 5” size. The two center tubes on each side go around the frame. The engine MUST to stay in the stock location.

What Fits:
The header will fit with side motor mounts or motor plates. This header was designed with a Power Master #9540 or #9500 or a CVR #5323Nippondenso style starter and will not fit with a full size GM stock starter or Hitachi style mini starter.
We offer Power Master #9540 starters.
It has excellent oil pan room. Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan it has 4 ¾” of room on the passenger side and 5” of room on the driver side. Ground clearance is also excellent, with a Milodon 7 quart oil pan and the largest tube size (2 ¼”) the header was ¼” below the bottom of the pan, smaller tube sizes will gain ground clearance. Spark plug room is very good with angle plug heads, straight plugs are tighter. This header is designed for skinny drag racing type tires, but may fit up to a 7” with tire depending on the wheel offset. It has good room for aftermarket “A” arms.
This header is made for stock type clutch linkage, but will NOT fit column shifter linkage, power brake booster or factory air conditioning.
Note: Brake lines may have to be rerouted for clearance. If you are going to keep the inner fender wells they will have to be notched for header clearance.
If more room is needed for our race collector mufflers or a large exhaust system we offer a chrome moly transmission cross member.

Installation:
Installing these headers is very easy as they are individual tubes. On both sides install the front tube first, then the back tube, then the center pair (these are the tubes that go around the frame). Now install the collector. There are mounting tabs on the collectors and on the primary tubes to secure the collectors. On the driver side one tab on the collector and one tab on the primary tube have an “L” stamped on them and must line up with each other when installed. The passenger side tabs have an “R” stamped on them. Only snug the header bolts, until the collector has been installed, then go back and tighten the header bolts.

Collectors can be 3”, 3 ½” or 4” depending on primary size, also, collector mufflers in up to 5” diameter.
This header has the 2 center tubes on each side going around the frame, so it is intended for drag type skinny front tires. May fit up to a 7” tire depending on wheel offset.
This header has good room for aftermarket A arms.

The engine must stay in the stock position either on solid side motor mounts or motor plates. Side mounts are Moroso #62630 frame mounts and Moroso #62515 engine mounts.
This header requires a Power Master #9540 or #9500 Nippondenso type starter, or #9526 for staggered mount. A stock starter or Hitachi type starter will not fit.

Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ¼” of room on the passenger side and 4 ¾” of room on the driver side for sump kick outs.
Spark plugs have good room, there is more room with angled spark plugs.
Oil filter has good access. With some kick out pans you may have to slide filter forward to get past sump.

This header will fit a power brake booster and clutch linkage, but will not fit a factory air conditioning box on the firewall or column shifter linkage.

What Fits:
We used a Milodon oil pan #30900 to design with and the bottom of the header was ¼” higher than the bottom of the pan. (The header will work with many different oil pans with kick out sumps). Measuring from the side of a stock oil pan we have over 4” of room on the driver side and on the passenger side at mid way down the pan we have 2 ¼” of room and at the bottom 3” of room for kick out sumps. The Milodon oil pan we used has a 1 ½” sump kick out and we could still get the oil filter out from the bottom.
This header is designed for either straight or angled spark plugs. The spark plugs have good clearance. This header requires a Nippondenso style mini starter. We used a Power Master #9500 or #9540 to design with. A full size GM starter and a Hitachi style mini starter will NOT fit.
The header is designed for the engine in the stock location on stock motor mounts or Moroso #62500 solid motor mounts, but will not fit a mid plate. It will fit clutch linkage and a power brake booster, but will not fit factory air conditioning or column shifter linkage.
We offer Power Master #9540 starters.

Installing the Headers:

Pro-Tour Style: When the header is built in the Pro-Tour style (all one piece) it is difficult to install and should be held in place as the engine is installed.
Race Style: If the header is built in the Race style with individual tubes install one tube at a time from the bottom starting from front to back. You may have to raise the engine on the driver side to get #3-#5 pair installed past the steering column. Then install the collectors. In the Race style this header can be fitted with larger collectors or our collector mufflers.

This is a hand made header, so we can make any combination you need.

What Fits:
All tubes are inside the frame with excellent ground clearance and spark plug access.
On our design car we used a Moroso oil pan #20140 and in the 2 1/8” primary size the header was ½” below the pan. Smaller primary sizes would gain ground clearance.
From the side of a stock oil pan we have 3 ½” of room on the passenger side and 4” of room on the driver side for sump kick outs. We used a stock GM starter. Oil filter access is very easy.
This header was designed on Dirty Dingo #DD3575C adjustable engine mounts, setting on stock small block frame mounts.
To position the motor we used a stock transmission crossmember and centered the tailshaft mount in the slotted holes. See photos of engine mount position.
This header will also fit motor plates.
This header WILL fit a power brake booster, but WILL NOT a fit factory air conditioning box on the firewall or column shifter linkage.

Note: It is important that you read our Yellow (Header Installation Tips) page before installing your new Lemons Headers. It will make installing the headers easier band save you time.

Header installation:
Driver Side: When we finished our design header we were able to remove the driver side header easily out the bottom.

Passenger side: We had to remove the spark plugs and starter and take it out through the top.
If we build the header with slip on type race collectors we can cut the header flange in the center, so the tubes would be in pairs, making installation easier.

This header in the Pro-Tour style can be made in any tube size up to 2” with a 3 ½” collector, stepped or not. It can also be made in a race version with any tube size up to 2” and up to a 4” collector or up to a 5” race collector muffler. Because of the tight tolerances at the steering box we don’t have room to use inner adapter plates on the head.
All of our headers are hand made so we can make them for any engine deck height and for most aftermarket cylinder heads.

What Fits:
This header has excellent ground clearance. The bottom of the header is higher than the bottom of the oil pan. It is also made for oil pans with sump kick outs. On the passenger side we have 3 ½” of room and on the driver side we have 1 ½” of room at the pan rail and 4” of room at the bottom of the pan for sump kick outs.
This header has good room around straight or angled spark plugs. It requires a mini starter, either a Hitachi or Nippondenso style, but will not fit a full size GM starter.
It is designed for mechanical clutch linkage and a Lakewood style scatter shield as well as any automatic transmission.
We offer Power Master #9540 starters.
It is designed for side motor mounts, but not for a mid plate. It fits a power brake booster, but will not fit column shifter linkage, only floor shifters.

IMPORTANT: There are many aftermarket motor mounts available for these chassis which position the engine forward from the stock location. In our fabricating jigs we can compensate for these positions. Because the steering box clearance is so tight we must have accurate information from the customer as to the motors location. Ask our sales person for information about finding these measurements.

Header Installation:
Passenger side: With the starter out install the header from the bottom. The starter can be installed with the header in place.

Driver side: Our design car had a stock oil pan on it and with all clutch linkage out, the oil filter and spark plugs out. We were able to install the header from the bottom with out raising the engine.

This header is available in any tube size up to 2” with a 3 ½” collector. All of our headers are hand made so we can make them for any engine deck height and for any aftermarket cylinder head. All of the tubes are inside the frame and the header has excellent ground clearance.

What Fits:

We used a Milodon oil pan #30900 to design with and the bottom of the header was ½” higher than the bottom of the oil pan. The available room for an oil pan kick out sump is 3” on the passenger side and 4” on the driver side, measuring from the side of a stock oil pan. The oil filter was easily removed even with the 1 ½” kick out on the Milodon pan.

The steering column must be installed per the chassis builders instructions for clearance with the header. Our design fits side motor mounts or motor plates, but the engine must stay in the stock position per SRG specs. It has good spark plug room, some spark plugs can be easily removed with a socket and an extension some will require a socket and end wrench.

This header will fit a power brake booster and clutch linkage with the Z bar over the filter, but will not fit column shifter linkage. It requires a mini starter, Hitachi or Nippondenso style, a full sized GM starter will not fit. If a Lakewood style scatter shield is used you will have to slightly trim the outer edge, below the starter area.

We offer Power Master #9540 starters.

Installing the Headers: 

Driver side: remove the spark plugs, oil filter and the center section of the steering column between the “U” joints. You do not have to raise the engine, the header will install from the bottom.

Passenger side: remove the spark plugs and starter. You do not have to raise the engine, the header will install from either the top or the bottom. Before bolting the header in place reinstall the starter.

Header Specs:

 This header is designed for any tube size UP TO 2 ¼” with any collector size UP TO 4”. It is normally built as a pro-tour style header all one piece with the collectors welded to the primary tubes. It can also be made as a race style header with individual tubes and slip on collectors. It is designed for the stock chassis with the stock steering box and the engine in the stock location. All of the tubes are inside the frame. Spark plug access is good with good access to the mini-starter and oil filter. It has plenty of room for large oil pan kick outs with good ground clearance. It will fit a factory air conditioning box on the fire wall and stock clutch linkage but will not fit column shifter linkage or a full size power brake booster. This header will fit all automatic transmissions with floor shifters. Mini starter required. This header was designed on small block motor mount frame stands.

What Fits:

The motor must stay in the stock position on Small Block motor mounts and frame stands.

It will fit a Factory AC box on the fire wall and stock clutch linkage but will NOT fit a full size brake booster or column shifter linkage.

Header has room for oil pan sump kick outs.

This header requires a mini starter.

Installing the headers: Pro-Tour style

If your header is made as a pro-tour style you will have to raise the engine to get past the steering box. Both sides install from below. If it is made as a race header you can install it with the engine in place.

Installing the Race Header:

Driver side, install #1, #3 and #7 tubes from below then #5 tube from the top, then install the collector. Only snug the header bolts until the collector is installed then go back and tighten all the header bolts.

Passenger side, install the tubes from front to back and then the collector.
