The Inaugural HEADERS FOR HOPE tournament will be held on April 21st at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, MD.          

This weekend of youth and college soccer will enable coaches and players an opportunity to play spring matches against some of the best youth and college soccer programs in the country while also providing teams the chance to make a difference off the field in the lives of people affected by cancer.  

The format of the tournament will consist of two, 70 minute games per team. 

This year, we are asking all teams to donate/raise $1000.00 per team to participate in our event.  All donations are tax-deductible.

Individual fundraising web pages for all participating teams will be available via Activegiving.com. You will be able to direct potential supporters to your own website to make on-line donations. 

Participating teams include: College of William and Mary, University of Maryland, U.S. Naval Academy, Villanova University, D.C. United Women, Loyola University, and Delaware ODP Girls.

Founder of Headers For Hope and long-time soccer sports industry veteran Louise Waxler created the Foundation in loving memory of her many friends who lost their lives to this deadly disease. By combining her passion for sports and her passion for helping those win their fight against cancer, Headers For Hope was born. 

Headers For Hope works with tournaments and teams across the country and within each sport to raise funds, which is donated back to a local cancer charity or organization.  HFH is a registered non-profit corporation in the State of Virginia.
